A "wee bit" (King Kenny style) about the blog..

TruthOrFlair. Because whatever is possible in the realms of imagination, can be brought to life by audacity and courage.

Football. Cricket. Two sports where even the best teams in terms or skill, organisation and preparation can be dazzled by moments of individual brilliance. Two sports whose beauty have been tarnished by scandals and controversy but which still have the ability to captivate a world. Sports where flair sets the legends apart from the very good.

About me

My name is Fazan Habib Sajid. I am 21 years old, and a die hard life-long Liverpool FC fan. In fact, I can be deemed as a sports maniac, as I take a lot of interest in other aspects of Football as well as Cricket, Tennis, Rugby, Athletics and Snooker. Other hobbies and interests of mine include reading (mainly sports journalism with Paul Tomkins being my favourite in recent times), Film and TV, and travelling. I have a keen interest in film and TV from all genres, languages and time. I believe it is the most creative way of illustrating different personalities, societies and backgrounds.  I love to travel because I love to explore different cultures, and meet new people. After coming to the UK at a very young age having being born in Lahore, Pakistan, I have been fortunate enough to understand and appreciate both eastern and western cultures.

I was inspired to create this blog by a few people. One of them is Rumman Sikdar, who has been a very close friend for a number of years now. He is a very talented writer and like all good writers.. he is bit of a nutjob mentally. Another person who inspired me is my dear friend Pintu (Puneet Seedhar). He encouraged me to create my own blog by showing me his very own 'basic' attempt at blogging. He is a very interesting character, who will benefit by spending more time and care with his work. Finally, the person who inspired me the most is a 13 year old family friend Setara Khan. She is incredibly talented when it comes to creative arts and is currently in the process of stepping up another level from blogging by creating her own personal fashion website. I can say with absolute certainty she has a very bright future ahead of her.

I recently earned a degree in BSc Economics with Honours from The University of Kent, Canterbury. My degree allowed me to tailor my own career path by choosing my own modules. I focused on mainly finance and macroeconomic modules. During my final year I completed a 6000 word essay on the Impact of the FIFA World Cup on the South African economy to a very high standard. (this is available to read in the blog under the economics of the fifa world cup section)

This blog will try to express some of my thoughts (an economist) with a love for flair, an appreciation of the beauty, honesty, and admiration of skill plus dedication involved in all sports (apart from darts and bowls).

I would like to clarify as clearly as possible that this is blog will be constructed of MY views and in no way do I mean to offend any group or individual intentionally. If I do criticise to heavily, please take it light-heartedly.

There will also be some posts purely Economics related as I wanted to justify taking it as a degree subject as well as not being sure whether I am ready or not to create two separate blogs... just yet!

Enjoy reading!!!
